I have grown in an academic family. My father Abdolreza Rahmati is an associate professor at the Iran University of Science and Technology and my mother Fariba Khashehchi is the director of computer group at Shariaty Technical College. My only sibling Ahmad
is currently a Ph.D. student at Rice University works on wireless technologies at Apple.
According to my British birth certificate; my name is actually spelled as "Ameer" but in paperworks it's always written as Amir.
Ameer in Persian means commander or leader.
Rahmati is derived from the word Rahmat meaning mercy & compassion.
